Private Boat Tours

A Custom Experience Created Just For You

Sit back, relax and let a motor do the work on one of Riptide’s exciting boat tours. We offer a variety of private charter boat tours of Amelia Island, Cumberland Island and many surrounding areas. Where else can you see an 18th century sugar plantation, a herd of wild horses, and have a chance of seeing a submarine next to a pre-Civil War fort all in the same day? Riptide’s local USCG certified captains will show you the diversity of our southern treasure we call Amelia Island on one of our guided boat tours.

Entertainment & Beauty All Around

What makes this barrier island so special is not only the long stretches of beaches but the surrounding intercostal which mazes through Northeast Florida. Our Fort George Boat Tour takes you south of Amelia Island to explore some of the most interesting and scenic areas. Learn about the Ribault Club, The Timucuan Indians, and the Kingsley Plantation. The marshlands you will journey through are inhabited by all sorts of birds, creatures, and vegetation. The captain will fill your ears with stories from the past as well as teach you about the wildlife. The tour is as entertaining as it is beautiful.

Tour Cumberland Island

Have you heard the rumors of wild horses that can be spotted on the beach? If you choose to do the Cumberland Island Boat Tour, our captain will lead you on an adventure to our neighbors north of us in Georgia. The island is known and treasured for its wealth of history and of course the beautiful animals that roam the beaches. Our captain will help you explore the area with tales of wealthy industrialists, revolutionary war heroes, and much more. Dolphins and manatees are playful in this area and can be often seen swimming next to our tours.  The majestic horses that live on Cumberland Island run freely on the coastline and can be admired by boat.  As the Cumberland Island Boat Tour is our most popular boating tour it guaranteed to wow you.

First Class Experience

Add some refreshments to your boating excursion. Our captain always keeps a cooler of water and ice on board complimentary to you. Otherwise, the tour is completely BYOB. Pop a bottle to celebrate an anniversary or bring the kids some juice boxes. It is completely up to you! Any snacks or beverages are welcome. Feel free to keep them iced down in our cooler. Our boat is stocked with amenities that will give you a first class experience on board.

So, ditch your socks, leave the docks, and set your clocks to island time with a private cruise to explore the coastlines of pristine Fernandina Beach, Fort George, Amelia and Cumberland Islands on a Riptide boat tour.

Captain Bill Quick was an excellent guide and ensured everyone was safe and well informed about the history of the area. He was also very spirited and funny! We had a great time!

We rented two boats for a family get together. Jeff our guide on what we termed the “ over 50 adult” boat was very knowledgeable of the area and actually a lot of fun. We all enjoyed him and the boat. The younger adults had a fun guide and too. I believe his name was Tyler ! He was also knowledgeable of the area. We may book again in a month to or so.

Captain Kyle did absolutely the best tour of the area. He was very knowledgeable on the history and made sure we all had a great time. He was patient with our crew and made the experience top notch. I would highly recommend the craig cat tour!

We had a great experience with Riptide Watersports rentals. We rented chairs and umbrellas for 4 days. They were there when we got to the beach. Everyone in our group agreed it was so much easier going to the beach and not having to worry about chairs and umbrellas. I will definitely do this again

Highly recommend using Riptide for your umbrella and chair rentals while vacationing on Amelia Island! Our chairs and umbrellas were set up in front of our unit every morning and we didn’t have to deal with lugging sandy equipment back and forth to the beach each day. The customer service is great, and there is a cancellation policy by phone or email within 24 hours if weather or plans change.

Excellent service. Chairs and umbrella were perfectly placed each morning before 8am. Equipment is showing some age but no issues with it.

We took the Craig Cat Tour. Your camera will be in a box to keep it dry. You won't get many photos but you will get wet and have a great time! Captain Bill was very clear with instructions on how to operate the boat safely. He stopped several times to point out interesting landmarks. Took time to watch the dolphins. Had a blast driving our own vessel. Sunblock before you go. Leave a towel and dry clothes in your car for after! Such a beautiful area to see. We recommend the Craig Cats (two seaters) and Captain Bill.

Had three friends in town and i set two tours with Riptide. Day one was kayaking with guide Kyle at Alimacani. It was a great trip and Kyle has so much knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area. Day two was riding the Craig cats with Captain Bill. What a blast! He also has a wealth of local knowledge. Video of a manatee drinking water after Craig cat tour. Photo of holding a sea urchin on kayaking tour. Both tours are highly recommended.
